Port Authority Bus Loses Engine on Route 51 in Whitehall

No injuries have been reported.

UPDATE (5:50 p.m.): All four lanes have reopened, and traffic has resumed its normal flow.

Traffic is slow but steady in the 4700 block of Route 51 at around 3:45 on Wednesday afternoon as Whitehall Borough Public Works crews clean up a mess left by Port Authority of Allegheny County.

A Port Authority bus's engine blew out on the busy state road (northbound) at around 3:15 p.m., leaving a trail of motor oil that needs to be covered.

The disabled bus remains on the roadway, and Whitehall police officers are directing traffic.

No injuries have been reported.
