Police Charge Six Youths with Attacking Man Leaving Baldwin Health Center

And other Whitehall police news from Jan. 24-30.

Man Attacked

officers came to the 1700 block of Skyline Drive in Whitehall's area at around 11:15 p.m. on Jan. 28 in reponse to a fight reported near the .

When police officers arrived at the scene, they found a 31-year-old man with injuries to his cheeks, nose and arms, and a group of six juveniles ranging from 12 to 16 years old.

The injured man said that he was leaving work at the health center when he was assaulted by the six juveniles—four girls and two boys.

The man said that he was struck in the back by an unknown object while he was passing the group of kids. He said that they also tore off his jacket.

The man did not have any serious visible injuries and he refused medical attention, according to Whitehall police Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko.

Police have charged all six youths involved in the incident with harassment (physical). The injured man is not being charged with a crime.

Vehicle Reported Stolen in Whitehall Ends Up in Baldwin

police received a report from the 1600 block of Skyline at around 1:17 p.m. on Jan. 28 that a resident's vehicle—a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am—was stolen sometime during the previous night while it was parked in a lot behind the victim's residence.

Earlier that day, at around 3:15 a.m., that vehicle was found—abandoned—by in the middle of East Willock Road after it had apparently struck a parked car. At that point, the car had not been reported as stolen, and police said that it showed no signs of being broken into. Danko said the steering column on the Grand Am was intact.

Whitehall police are investigating the stolen vehicle report, and Baldwin police are investigating the vehicle's crash on East Willock.

Shoplifting at Caste Village

Whitehall police received a shoplifting call from the Dollar Sense store at at around 2:09 p.m. on Jan. 27. An employee of Dollar Sense told police that a man in that store had recently placed a number of items into a bag and ran out of the shop toward Baptist Road without paying.

The man was described as being white, and about 25 to 35 years old. When he left the store, he was wearing a black baseball cap, black-rimmed glasses and denim jeans with a large hole on the left knee.

He stole gloves, a black belt and an assortment of costume jewelry—worth about $20 in total.

Police are investigating.

Marijuana Possession Charges in ACLD Tillotson Parking Lot

Whitehall police officers came across a suspicious vehicle parked in  lower parking lot off of Girard Road at around 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 28.

Upon investigating the vehicle, the officers reported finding occupants inside of it in possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.

Police charged two people—Patrick Anthony Costantini, 19, of 4657 Wilburke Ave. in Whitehall, and a 15-year-old girl—with possession of a controlled substance.

Vehicle Damage on Skyline

Whitehall police received a call at around 8:32 a.m. on Jan. 30 from a resident in the 1600 block of Skyline reporting that her vehicle was damaged sometime during the previous 24 hours.

The vehicle was parked in a lot behind the victim's residence. Police reported observing that the vehicle's left rear quarter panel was damaged, possibly by someone kicking it.

Police are investigating.
