Overdose the Apparent Cause of Death for Baldwin Mayor's Son

Pittsburgh police spokesperson provides an update.

A spokesperson for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police says that, while investigators have not made an official determination yet, the apparent cause of death for Alexander Bennett III, son of  Mayor Alexander "Sandy" Bennett Jr., is an overdose of some substance.

A representative from the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office on Aug. 3 called the incident but the aforementioned police spokesperson upgraded the issue on Aug. 16, saying, " ... It appears, at this time, to be an overdose."

Both representatives said that toxicology reports, which have not been completed yet, will shed more light on the official cause of Bennett III's death.
