police, with assistance from the and Castle Shannon police departments, then began searching for the male with K-9 units in the surrounding area, including in and around Whitehall's Steeplechase community, and eventually located him.

When asked what he was doing near Wesley Spectrum, the male said that he was traveling through the area on his way to meet his girlfriend, Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi said.

When asked why he ran from a police officer, the male said that he was scared that he was going to be in trouble for taking that shortcut and for walking around outside well past nightfall, Dolfi said.
