Nearby: CCAC-South Student Robbed on Campus

Suspects are in the custody of the Allegheny County police.

A student at Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC)'s South Campus in West Mifflin Borough was robbed on campus on Tuesday night and was injured when he attempted to resist the multiple robbers, according to David Hoovler, CCAC's executive assistant to the president for public relations.

Hoovler said that the robbers quickly left the South Campus after the incident. The victim was eventually treated and released from a local hospital, Hoovler said.

Hoovler also said that CCAC security detained three of the four suspects in the case on campus on Wednesday and that those suspects are in the custody of Allegheny County police. A fourth suspect has also been identified, Hoovler said.

Following the incident, CCAC officials made announcements room-to-room and over the South Campus' public address system, instructing students and employees to exercise caution, including walking to cars in groups or requesting a security escort if desired.

Employees and students collegewide were informed of the situation on Wednesday morning, and CCAC locations have added security personnel.
