'Large Male Body Part' Carved into Ninth Green at South Hills Country Club

The vandalism was discovered by the club's greenskeeper, police say.

A South Hills Country Club greenskeeper was in for a bit of a surprise when he visited the club's eighth, ninth and 10th golf greens in Whitehall Borough on Friday morning.

The greenskeeper reported to police at around 10:45 that day that one or more people had gone onto those putting greens recently and poked multiple new holes into the grass. In addition, two of the three original holes' flag markers were stolen, while another remained on the course in a damaged, burnt condition.

And to top it all off, carved into the No. 9 green was a depiction of, as Whitehall police Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko put it, "a large male body part."
