What Did Those Tires Ever Do to You?

Police are investigating two incidents related to the deflation of tires in , Danko said.

Police received two such complaints on Friday morning, when, at 8:48, a resident from the told police that he discovered that someone had punctured the left front tire of his vehicle while it was parked in his designated space in the Maiden Bridge garage.

The man said that this was the sixth time that someone had damaged one of his tires in the past year.

Danko said that police are investigating the incident as criminal mischief and the series of incidents as potential harassment.

Then, at 11:50, a resident from the 1700 block of Skyline Drive in the area told police that someone had let all of the air out of both front tires of his vehicle sometime the day before while it was parked behind his apartment building.

The man said that someone had poured sugar down the gas tank of that same vehicle this past November.

As with the day's earlier call, Danko said that police are investigating the incident as criminal mischief and the repetition of incidents as potential harassment.

Door Beaten Down on Parkline Drive

Police responded to a call from the 1800 block of Parkline Drive in the Prospect Park area on Sunday at 8:24 p.m., Danko said, for a report that a resident's apartment door had been beaten down with what appeared to be a sledgehammer.

The damage was discovered by one of the resident's children, who had gone to the apartment while the parent was out of town. The parent had only been gone for one day.

Police spoke with other residents in the apartment building, but none reported any loud noise or suspicious activity. And nothing was missing from the apartment.

Police are investigating the damage, which has cost the landlord around $100, and have uncovered a person of interest, who will be interviewed.

Management from Skyline Drive's Skytop Village called police at around 1:49 p.m. on Friday, Danko said, to report that someone had stolen a 40-foot aluminum ladder—valued at around $400—from Skytop's maintenance department.

Police interviewed Skytop residents and found that one resident there saw a man carrying the ladder away from Skytop toward another area on Skyline on Tuesday, March 6.

The resident did not think to call police at the time.

The incident is being investigated.
