Handcuffed Man Runs from Police on Greenlee Road

police officers reported to the 600 block of Greenlee Road for a report of a disturbance in a house there at around 5:09 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 23.

When the officers reached the house in question, they discovered a loud party of approximately 20 people. A police officer at the rear of the house reported that a male had exited the house, but when he was approached by the officer, he placed his hands in the waistband of his pants and ran back inside.

The man was eventually searched, and officers reported finding a controlled substance and a large amount of cash on him. Officers handcuffed the man and placed him on the floor of the house.

While police were interviewing other people in the house, the handcuffed man ran out the house through the front door.

The Whitehall police received assistance from the nearby Brentwood and police departments but could not find the man.

The man has been identified, though, and according to Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi, there are numerous warrants from Allegheny and Washington counties already out for his arrest.

The Whitehall police are pursuing an additonal warrant related to this incident.

Mailed Items Stolen from Residents on Skyline Drive

The received a call from someone in the 1700 block of Skyline Drive in the area at around 2:54 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, for a report that a resident had found opened mail packages in a shared laundry room.

Police officers were able to identify two area residents by the information on the packages and learned that someone had stolen the goods from inside of those packages.

One resident was expecting a book estimated at $12.75 in value, while the other was expecting cosmetics estimated at $9.72 in value.

Police are investigating.
