Drugs, DUI, Knife Charges for Brentwood Man

And a theft-from-vehicle report in these Baldwin Borough police notes.

Multiple Charges for Brentwood Borough Man

A Baldwin Borough police officer stopped motorist Samuel James Fullerton on Kirk Avenue in Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood at around 2:35 a.m. on Dec. 19 for driving erratically on Becks Run Road and other nearby streets, according to a police report.

The vehicle being driven by Fullerton, 31, of Beechdale Street in Brentwood Borough, also had what appeared to be fresh damage to it, and according to the officer, Fullerton admitted that he was recently involved in a traffic accident but failed to stop to report it.

The officer smelled alcohol coming from Fullerton and put him through field-sobriety and breath-analyzer tests, which he failed, before arresting him and taking him to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for a blood test (results pending).

According to the officer, Fullerton admitted to recently drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. And suspected marijuana, as well as a smoking pipe, was found inside of Fullerton's vehicle.

The officer also reported finding two suspicious pills and a spring-loaded knife in Fullerton's possession. The officer reported that Fullerton thought that the pills were LSD.

After leaving the hospital, Fullerton was taken to his residence and released to the custody of his girlfriend.

The pills and suspected marijuana will be turned in to the Allegheny County Crime Lab for analysis, and the knife and pipe have also been seized.

Shortly after Fullerton was pulled over, another Baldwin police officer reported finding evidence of a single-vehicle crash at the nearby intersection of Becks Run and East Carson Street. Fullerton said that no one else was involved in the accident.

Police are charging Fullerton with a number of offenses: suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a prohibited weapon and failure to notify police of an accident. (UPDATE: The weapon charge was withdrawn on Feb. 19.)

Theft from Vehicle

A resident from the 200 block of Palace Court came to the Baldwin Borough police station at around 11:38 a.m. on Saturday to report a recent theft from his vehicle, according to a police report.

The victim said that, on the evening of Dec. 26 or the morning of Dec. 27, a GPS device and approximately $5 in change were taken from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in his driveway.

Police are investigating.

Mr. Fullerton, I commend you vehemently. Rather than play the proverbial “criminal lying game”, you admitted to recently drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. Good for you to recognize that your goose had been cooked (if I may be so bold).
This reminds me of the time that Uncle Helix was so inebriated, we were able to make him admit that he wears lady pants. Haha…lol….never again did he drink that much gingerbeer at one sitting….until the next day, mind you! Happy New Year to all. Make 2013 the best ever! Hip Hip Hooray for new beginings! Hip Hip Hooray for Mr. Fullerton! Hip Hip Hooray for gingerbeer!
