On March 9, this year, the Whitehall Police Department began investigating a criminal mischief incident after a person claimed to be the victim of a group of teenagers who threw eggs at that person’s vehicle.

The victim provided Whitehall police with information as to whom the perpetrators could have been, as well as information tying some of those perpetrators to the country club burglaries.

That information led Whitehall police to interview Velgich on March 9. Although Velgich admitted that he and four friends “egged” the aforementioned victim’s vehicle on March 8, Velgich denied any knowledge of the country club burglaries, according to a Whitehall police report filed by officer Brett Newbould.

On March 10, Whitehall police interviewed Davis, and when he was asked if he knew why he was at the police station, Davis said, “Because of the country club burglary,” according to Newbould’s report.

Newbould reported that Davis admitted to helping Velgich and Teahan burglarize the country club on June 9, 2010, after Velgich and Teahan asked him to be a lookout for them. Davis said that Velgich and Teahan boasted that they had burglarized the country club twice already at that time, according to Newbould.

Indeed, the country club reported a June 9, 2010, break-in after also being victimized by break-ins on May 1 and May 23, 2010.

Also on March 10, Whitehall police interviewed another of the teens involved in the egging incident. According to Newbould’s report, that teen told Whitehall police that Velgich and Davis had burglarized the country club and that alcohol stolen from the club was kept at Balla’s house. Newbould reported that the teen also said that he and Balla took the alcohol to Ocean City, MD, for a senior trip.

Police in Ocean City confirmed with Whitehall police that the teen and Balla were involved in an underage drinking incident in Ocean City on June 14, 2010.

Whitehall police also interviewed Balla and Teahan on March 10. Newbould reported that Balla said that Davis and Teahan had burglarized the club and delivered alcohol to him.

Also according to Newbould’s report, Teahan said that he was involved in all three burglaries and that he, Velgich and a minor burglarized the club on May 1, 2010. Newbould reported that Teahan admitted to burglarizing the club with Velgich again on May 23, 2010, and again with Velgich and Davis (as a lookout) on June 9, 2010.

Teahan, who worked for the country club from July 2008 to September 2009, told police that he knew the layout of the building, according to Newbould’s report.
