DUI

Baldwin Borough police officers went to a home in the 3400 block of Hazelhurst Avenue at around 12:32 a.m. on Saturday for a report of an underage drinking party.

When officers arrived at the home, they observed a vehicle starting to back out of the driveway. The vehicle stopped once officers approached it, according to a police report, and upon interacting with the driver, an officer smelled alcohol.

The driver—James Boylan, 24, of Hillcrest Drive in —admitted to recently drinking alcohol, according to the report, and was put through field-sobriety and breath-analyzer tests, which he failed.

The officers could see alcohol on the front porch of and inside of the Hazelhurst home but did not find sufficient reason to obtain a search warrant to enter the home. And Boylan said that everyone inside of the home was at least 21 years old.

Boylan was taken to the before eventually being released.
