Charges Lessened Against Baldwin-Whitehall Teens in Country Club Break-Ins Case

Several charges have been dropped, but court dates lie ahead.

Three of the four men charged in connection with at the in last year have had a number of charges against them dropped.

The men are not out of the woods, though, as Anthony Joseph Velgich, 19, of 5220 Gerry Drive in ; Mark Benjamin Teahan, 19, of 5611 Sixth St. in Baldwin Borough; Tyler Brandon Davis, 19, of 4796 Oakridge Drive in Whitehall; and Ryan J. Balla, 19, of 4880 Elmwood Drive in Baldwin Borough, will still face future court dates over their possible involvement in the break-ins.

Velgich and Teahan were both originally charged by the with three counts each of burglary, criminal conspiracy, theft and criminal trespass in connection with the break-ins, but their burglary charges have been withdrawn.

Davis, originally charged with one count each of burglary, criminal conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property, will now face only the conspiracy and receiving stolen property charges.

Balla, originally charged with one count of receiving stolen property, is now instead being charged with one count of purchasing ethyl alcohol beverage by a minor.

Velgich will face a formal arraignment at the Allegheny County Courthouse on Aug. 30. Davis will do the same on Sept. 12. The next step for Teahan has not been announced yet. (UPDATE: Teahan will face a formal arraignment at the county courthouse on Sept. 7.)

Balla will have a summary appeal hearing at the Pittsburgh City-County Building on Sept. 20 (UPDATE: postponed to Nov. 30).
