Baldwin Township Police Briefs (July 1-21)

Several DUI and drug arrests have been made this month.

Drugs, Part I

On July 1 at approximately 4:50 p.m., pulled over a car driven by Geoffrey Giegucz for a registration sticker violation after police spotted Giegucz's car in the 500 block of McNeilly Road.

During the investigation, police found a cigarette pack containing pills and charged Giegucz, of Bridge Street in Pittsburgh, with summary drug violations.

DUI, Part I

On July 2 at approximately 3:06 a.m., Baldwin Township police received a report that a car had collided with two parked cars in the 900 block of Highview Road.

The driver, identified as Cindy Inverso, 46, of Magnolia Court in Bethel Park, proceeded driving to Castle Shannon Borough, where, according to police Chief Terrence P. O'Brien, she collided with a phone pole on Killarney Drive.

Baldwin Township police made the arrest.

Inverso is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, causing damage to an unattended vehicle or property, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, failure to obey a stop sign and failure to stay on the right side of the road.

DUI, Part II

On July 2 at approximately 10 p.m., Baldwin Township police pulled over Ralph Sunder, of Rocklynn Avenue in Pittsburgh, after Sunder was observed crossing over the white fog lines on McNeilly Road and having trouble keeping his vehicle in the roadway.

Police charged Sunder with DUI and with failure to drive on the right side of the road.

Drugs, Part II

On July 15 at approximately 9:44 p.m., Baldwin Township police observed a motorist driving slowly and acting suspiciously while driving in the 500 block of Dewalt Drive.

After a traffic stop and a subsequent search of the vehicle in question, police found some suspected cocaine and arrested the driver, Dana McGinnis, 42, of 2732 Crosby Ave. in Dormont Borough, on charges of possession of narcotics with intent to deliver, possession of narcotics and failure to drive on the right side of the road.

DUI, Part III

On July 20 at approximately 11:47 p.m., Baldwin Township police observed a vehicle traveling westbound at the intersection of McNeilly Road and Sussex Avenue crossing a double yellow line into the opposing lane.

Police arrested the vehicle's driver, Stephen Zimdahl, of Sheila Drive in Green Tree Borough, on charges of DUI, speeding and failure to drive on the right side of the roadway.
