Baldwin Borough Police Briefs (March 5-11)

Two more DUI arrests.

North Baldwin DUI Arrest

A officer pulled over a motorist—Brandon S. Marlatt, 24, of 5050 Doyle Road, Apt. 207, in Baldwin's Kensington Terrace Apartments complex—at the intersection of Steiner Street and Meadowdell Drive in north Baldwin at around 2:23 a.m. on Friday.

Marlatt ran a stop sign at the intersection of Joseph Street and Glass Run Road, according to the officer's report, as well as failed to signal while turning left onto Joseph from Glass Run and while turning left onto Steiner from Joseph.

The officer said that he could smell alcohol coming from Marlatt's vehicle, and he put him through field-sobriety tests, which he failed. Marlatt also admitted to recently drinking beer at the , the officer said.

Marlatt then failed a breath-analyzer test before being arrested and charged with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The officer took Marlatt to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for a blood test—results pending—before leaving him to the custody of his roommate on Doyle. 

South Baldwin DUI Arrest

A police officer stopped another motorist—Kathreen Ann Knoebel, 30, of 71 Woodside Drive in Irwin Borough—in the Loose Moose parking lot on Brownsville Road in south Baldwin at around 1:15 a.m. on Thursday.

Knoebel had sped on Brownsville Road, according to the officer's report, as well as failed to signal while turning right from Keenan Drive onto Brownsville.

The officer said that he could smell alcohol coming from Knoebel's vehicle, and he put her through field-sobriety tests, which she failed. She also failed a breath-analyzer test before being arrested and charged with suspicion of DUI.

The officer took Knoebel to Jefferson Regional for a blood test—results pending—before leaving her to the custody of a friend on Toura Drive in Pleasant Hills Borough.
