Grinch Steals Christmas on Youngridge Drive

A resident from Youngridge Drive in south contacted the at around 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, to report that someone had stolen an inflatable, lighted Mickey Mouse Christmas decoration—valued at $25—from her front porch sometime the night before.

The Baldwin police are investigating.

DUI and Drug Paraphernalia Arrest on Churchview Avenue

A Baldwin Borough police officer on patrol reported observing a vehicle speeding and failing to obey a stop sign at the intersection of Churchview Avenue and Willett Road in north Baldwin at around 1:35 a.m. on Tuesday.

The officer caught up to the vehicle in question—driven by Glenn L. Carter, 43, of 333 Linnview Ave. in Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood—and stopped it near the intersection of Churchview and Village Drive.

While speaking with Carter, the officer reported smelling an alcoholic beverage. The officer ordered Carter out of his vehicle, and while searching him for weapons, reported finding a marijuana pipe in one of Carter's pockets.

The officer put Carter through field-sobriety tests, which he reported that he failed, before arresting him for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia. The officer then took Carter to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for a blood test. Results of that test are pending.

Carter was eventually taken to his residence and released to the custody of his mother.
