Baldwin Borough Police Briefs (April 9-15)

Three DUI arrests.

Carrick Man Arrested on Brownsville Road

A police officer stopped a motorist on Brownsville Road in Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood at around 1:55 a.m. on Saturday for driving erratically on Becks Run Road in north Baldwin.

As the officer approached the motorist—William Alexander Warnock, 35, of Wayside Street in Carrick—he reported smelling alcohol. Warnock also admitted to recently drinking alcohol, according to the officer's report.

The officer put Warnock through field-sobriety tests, which he failed, before arresting him and taking him to the . While at the station, Warnock failed two breath-analyzer tests.

He was eventually released at his residence and is being charged with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Carnegie Man Arrested on Mellott Road

A Baldwin Borough police officer stopped a motorist near the intersection of Mellott Road and Hazelhurst Avenue in north Baldwin at around 3:35 a.m. on Saturday for driving erratically on nearby Churchview Avenue, Willett Road and Vernon Avenue.

As the officer approached the motorist—Zachary Buck Mallow, 21, of 7th Avenue in Carnegie Borough—he reported smelling alcohol. The officer learned that Mallow was an unlicensed driver and also found a bag of suspected marijuana under his driver's seat.

The officer put Mallow through a breath-analyzer test, which he failed. Mallow also admitted to recently drinking alcohol, the officer said.

Mallow then went through field-sobriety tests, which he failed, before being arrested and taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for a blood test. Results of that test are pending.

He was eventually picked up by a friend at Jefferson Regional and is being charged with suspicion of DUI, possession of a controlled substance and driving without a license.

Baldwin Man Arrested on East Willock

A Baldwin Borough police officer stopped a motorist near Baldwin's intersection of East Willock Road and Godec Drive at around 1:38 a.m. on Sunday for driving erratically on 's portion of Streets Run Road, through Whitehall's Streets Run-Route 51 intersection and on East Willock. 

As the officer approached the motorist—Branko Bradaric, 47, of East Willock in Baldwin—he reported smelling alcohol.

Bradaric agreed to be put through field-sobriety tests but said that he did not understand the officer's test instructions. Bradaric denied recently drinking alcohol, but he failed a breath-analyzer test administered at the scene.

He was then arrested and taken to Jefferson Regional for a blood test. Results of that test are pending.

He was eventually taken to the AAA on Route 51, where his daughter picked him up. Bradaric is being charged with suspicion of DUI.
