Symcheck swerved about Glass Run, the officer said, before he pulled her over in the Tom's Fleet Service parking lot.

The officer said that Symcheck was visibly upset and that she had had been arguing with her boyfriend—the man who exited the vehicle. Symcheck told police that her boyfriend was supposed to be her designated driver but that she had been driving since leaving the Burger King on Brownsville Road in Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood.

The officer said that he could smell alcohol coming from Symcheck's breath and that she failed field-sobriety tests. He charged her with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and took her to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for a blood test. Results of that test are pending.

She was eventually released to the custody of a friend at a residence on Streets Run Road in .

Too Fast on East Carson

A Baldwin Borough police officer stopped a motorist near the Glenwood Bridge in Hays at around 1:50 a.m. on Wednesday for traveling at over 70 mph in a 40-mph stretch of East Carson Street, according to the officer's report.

The officer said that he could smell alcohol coming from the breath of the motorist—Greg D. Sil, 36, of 664 Venetia Road in Peters Township. Sil failed most of the field-sobriety tests administered and also failed a breath-analyzer test, the officer said, before being charged with suspicion of DUI.

The officer took Sil to Jefferson Regional for a blood test. Results of that test are pending.

He was eventually released to the custody of a friend, who picked him up at the hospital.
