$900 Worth of Books Taken from Caste Village Shop

Two males simply entered the store, picked up the books and left.

What are the odds that these two simply like to read a lot?

Between 1 and 1:30 p.m. on Monday, two males picked up approximately 30 recordable storybooks at the Caste Village Hallmark store in Whitehall Borough and left the store without paying for them, according to Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi.

An employee of the store contacted police at around 2:30 p.m. that day when the books—valued at around $900 total—were learned to be missing.

Police then viewed surveillance video of the incident, which shows two males entering the store, picking up plastic shopping baskets, loading them with the books and then simply walking out into the parking lot one at a time, Dolfi said.

Police are investigating the incident and are trying to have the video enhanced, but they are also actively looking for the two suspects—one described as white with medium-length dark hair and wearing a light gray T-shirt and either gray or tan cargo shorts and the other described as white and wearing a dark-colored, flat-rim baseball cap, red-and-white plaid shirt and blue jeans.
