6 Victims, 1 Night: Whitehall Boro Residents Report More Thefts from Vehicles

The thefts all happened within one particular area—again.

For the second time in a month, a concentrated portion of Whitehall Borough has been hit by thefts from vehicles.

The common denominator once again? Each vehicle—parked either along or near Provost Road—was unlocked.

On Wednesday morning, Aug, 28, six victims—one each from Provost, Baldwin Manor Road and West Lawnview Drive and three from Old Boston Road—contacted Whitehall police to report that items were taken from their vehicles sometime overnight.

The items included loose change and other currency, a purse, and personal items like bank cards.

Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi said that none of the vehicles were damaged and that his department received no recent reports of suspicious people in the area.

Items were also taken from three unlocked vehicles parked along either Provost, Dunn Drive or Margaret Street sometime between the evening of Aug. 2 and the morning of Aug. 3.

"I don't know how else to say it," Dolfi said. "Lock your cars. Lock your cars. Lock your cars.

"If you see or hear anything, give us a call."

The thefts appear to be happening sometime after 11 p.m. and before 4 or 5 a.m., the chief said.
