One Man's Account of Baldwin-Whitehall Roads

Nothing is closed as of 8 p.m., but avoid standing water.

UPDATE (8:50 p.m., Monday): County Executive Rich Fitzgerald's office is reporting that Streets Run Road has flooded near Chapon's Greenhouses.

Some of the roads in Baldwin-Whitehall typically closed due to flooding—Streets Run, Glass Run, Becks Run, McNeilly and East Willock—and the Route 51-Route 88 intersection, are all open and functioning fine as of 8 p.m. on Monday, according at least to this writer.

Make no mistake; the roads are wet, and in some cases, have standing water on them. But they are very navigable, and the waterways running alongside them are raging. Yet, they are not overflowing.

Please use caution, as this article is merely my own opinion. But from around 6:30 to 8, I drove around the aforementioned areas with no problem.

Nevertheless, we could still see more heavy rain, and all of that could change. When the winds pick up, causing leaves and other debris to clog drains, flooding could happen once again at these hot spots.

Are you seeing anything different out there? The lights flickered at my house in south Baldwin Borough at around 8:15. Anyone lose power altogether?
