EVENING RUSH: Roads Are Clear in Baldwin-Whitehall

As of 4 p.m., the normal trouble spots are untroubled. There is a short delay on East Willock Road, however.

A day after the Pittsburgh area received the worst part of its share of Hurricane Sandy, the oft-flooded roads in and around Baldwin-Whitehall are clear in time for Tuesday's evening rush hour.

I drove around some of these troubled spots—Streets Run, Glass Run, Becks Run, McNeilly and East Willock roads—and the Route 51-Route 88 intersection, from 3 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, and all are very navigable, according at least to this writer.

There is some standing water, of course, on Streets Run Road, especially near Chapon's Greenhouses, but the road is not closed and is safe to use (in my opinion).

There is a short delay in the 5000 block of East Willock Road in Baldwin Borough, as workers are repairing a busted a water line.
