Right-To-Know About Bruce E. Dice

On January 15, 2014 the board voted to pay Mr Dice $26,000 for 2 months of service, but why? Did he give a legal opinion to the board that the position created and appointed on November 19th was legal? There are still a lot of questions about that night and the board continues to dodge the questions.

The following Right-To-Know was sent to Mr. Cherpak at Baldwin-Whitehall School District. Reading the response from Mr. Cherpak makes me wonder, do we have an agreed upon rate for services from Bruce E. Dice & Assocs.? I for one would never have a person working for me without knowing how much they will be  charging and some type of contract stating such.

Did I read this correctly? The school board hired Mr. Dice, but there is no record of his wages or duties? And we did pay him $26,000.00 for two months of work. But we don't what he did? The district representative sites Attorney client privilege? Who is the client? The people who pay him? Who paid the $26,000.00? Wasn’t that us? Am I missing something?

Baldwin/Whitehall retain him then we pay out our butts when he sends bills to the school board.

You would figure with all of the lawyers getting paid what they do corruption in society would be lessened. The total opposite is the case. We have a lawyer on the School Board itself who voted for what turned out to be a position that was against the law. And a solicitor who approved the position which was against the law. Both need to go.

This is why our kids can't get a pencil or paper for a school project, these payouts our ridiculous. Where is Mr. Lutz on all of this? He could help put a stop to all of this as Superintended, if he wanted. I would like to see the school board replaced, and take Lutz with them. Mr. Lutz should have put an end to the 120,000 dollar position, but he stood idly by. Remember, this is only what we know about. I am sure there is a ton more of corruption and it starts at the top.

You have to remember that Dr Lutz works and reports to the board. They control everything. I don't think Dr Lutz or any superintendent can so anything. We need to make sure we get good people on the board.

I agree with replacing the board, but what good is it having a superintendent that just stands by and says and does nothing to stop this incredible waste of money. He is the head of the school. He could at least say I disagree. Or I don't believe it is needed. When asked about the position, he had no comment. Remember, the 120,000 dollar position was to create an assistant position for him, he could and should have said, I don't need an assistant.
