Baldwin-Whitehall Should Embrace Social Media

I am wondering when Baldwin-Whitehall School District will start to embrace social media.

As social media continues to grow and be embraced by so many individuals, companies, churches, schools and other organizations, I am wondering when Baldwin-Whitehall School District will start to embrace social media.

I do a quick search, and Bethel Park, Mt. Lebanon and Upper St. Clair all have both a Twitter and Facebook presence.

I am not writing this as a compliant but to, hopefully, start a conversation and see Baldwin-Whitehall begin to use social media.

Both technologies have different purposes and have wide adoption through our society now. Many people can be reached faster using both of these technologies and can also communicate and exchange ideas to make our school district better.

Will arguments occur on social media? Sure. But they will occur anywhere, including inside the school board meetings.

I would look at South Hills Record, The Patch and WPXI as very good local implemenations of social media.

I would love to hear how others in our community feel. Am I the only one that would like to see this?
