I have been watching over the past few years as appointments to the board are made after people resign. It appears to be a common practice to resign from the board and then to be re-appointed back on the board.
But, this past week when a member resigned and only moments later was appointed to a new position, the 3rd highest paid position in the school district and was voted in by 2 newly appointed board members.
Transparency is becoming something that is talked about but not implemented. The integrity of our board is being brought into question because of this process. I purchased our home in this area because of I liked the school district and the community. I vote at every election and yet our votes are being negated through appointments.
I have read on various comments on this site about people organizing and would really like to know more about when and where people will met. I have decided to create a petition on Change.org to present to the school board, superintendent and the board of elections.
Members of the school board are representatives of the people of Baldwin Whitehall and yet not one is talking about this decision that they made. I call on each and every member of the member to make public their reasons for their vote, stand up and show what why you voted as you did.
