6 week BEGINNER YOGA series

Yoga was a discipline
developed in India over 5,000 years ago. Yoga in Sanskrit, translates to
“yoke” or bring together and is usually interpreted as “union”. At
Urban Prana Yoga, we want to help our students find balance in all
aspects of their lives including the mind, body, and spirit.

In
this six-week series, we will focus on building the asana practice from
the ground up. We will break down postures to focus on proper alignment
and modifications to build the practice for a lifetime. When the
six-week series is complete, you will
find yourself to be more focused, more grounded, and hopefully stronger!
This is the first step to a new you!

Everyone is welcome to
attend these workshops; no prior yoga experience is required. Class size
will be limited in order to give individual attention to each student.

Surya Namaskar B & standing asanas

February 16 (Week 3)
Balancing, twisting, & backbending

February 23 (Week 4)
Arm balances & hip openers

March 2 (Week 5)
Inversions & forward folds

March 9 (Week 6)
Putting it all together with mindfulness
