Weather Forecast: Will it Be a White Christmas?

Here's what the National Weather Service has to say for the Baldwin-Whitehall area.

Are you dreaming of a white Christmas? We might get lucky, but Christmas will probably just be gray this year.

Here's a look at, roughly, the Baldwin-Whitehall forecast through Christmas night from the National Weather Service:

  • Christmas Eve Day (Monday)—Rain likely, mainly after 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 38. Southeast wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than one-tenth of an inch are possible.
  • Christmas Eve Night—Rain showers likely before 4 a.m. Then, a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 31. South wind around 8 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
  • Christmas Day (Tuesday)—Partly sunny, with a high near 38. West wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable.
  • Christmas Night—A chance of freezing rain and sleet, mainly after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Northeast wind 5 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than one-tenth of an inch are possible.
