Strong Winds with Gusts Up to 50 MPH Forecast

The National Weather Service issues the advisory.

You probably noticed this already, but it's windy out there.

In fact, it is so windy that the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory that is in effect until 3 a.m. on Tuesday for western Pennsylvania and its surrounding areas.

How windy is it? The forecast calls for winds from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

The strongest winds are expected through 7 p.m. before gradually diminishing through the evening.

Scattered tree and power line damage can be expected, the weather service states. Minor property damage is possible with the highest gusts.

A wind advisory means that wind gusts greater than 45 mph are expected. Winds that strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
