PHOTOS: National Dress Up Your Pet Day!

Upload photos of your furry friends sporting their best attire to share with your neighbors here on Patch.

If you think that you have the cutest pooch or cat on the block, now is the time to prove it.

Jan. 14 is National Dress Up Your Pet Day, so get out your animal's best sweater, costume or tiara and get them dressed to the (ca)nines.

Every animal can join in on the fun, and we want to see! Take pictures of your beloved companion and post photos here by clicking on one of the green "Upload Photos and Videos" buttons above.

Be sure to leave a caption! We want to know the cutie's name and what community he or she lives in.

(By the way, if you feel like dressing up your hamster or iguana, too, go for it!)

LeonA January 15, 2013 at 01:02 am
Yes, which takes me directly to my picture file, I click on my photo and OPEN, and nothing happens.

Princess the Pom ..says thanks for the post. She thinks she's a movie star now and wants a milk bone with every meal.

I adopted him from a shelter when he was 9 years old since nobody wanted him. He was 16 when he died. He was such a sweetheart. He got doggie Alzheimers when he got older. Yes, there is such a thing. He had a tumor in his right hip muscle that they couldn't do anything with and it grew to a massive size and he could barely walk and would sometimes fall down. One night he was crying and in so much pain and I knew the next day it was time to have him put to sleep and out of his misery.

Any enthusiastic entrepreneurs out there? We could promote our Baldwin Whitehall well loved creature stars in more ways then one! How about pet apparel and care equipment and owner accessories. We could have dog leashes and cat collars with bells. Feed and water bowls all with our logo. Pet carrier and owner bumper stickers. The proceeds could be used to help parent volunteers who would qualify for assistance in paying for back ground checks while the others pay for their own to volunteer with our children in parental involvement. It's a small price to pay to help ensure any margin of weakness for the safety of our children. I hope full background checks will become law for all child volunteers in our school systems...public or private. As Kermit the frog would say... the lovers, the dreamers and me! Oh well thanks for some PATCH fun and healthy stress release...back to work!

My family had to put our beloved, old Rottweiler down one day. Like losing a brother or a sister. Very sad.

Billie WOW, I own a pet and it does not need clothes nor do the foster kittens that are due any day now.

Billee - I think that this is the best gibberish that you have ever spewed. This is a wonderous idea I truly hope that it comes to fruition. Thank you so much for this! As Jim Morrison used to famously sing while using the bathroom:
You know that it would be untrue You know that I would be a liar If I was to say to you Girl, we couldn't get much higher Come on baby, light my fire Come on baby, light my fire I believe what he was trying to say is, “Please light a match in here. It is very very stinky”. God bless.
