Route 51-Stilley Road Intersection Roadwork Rears its Head Again

Port Authority's southbound bus stop will sporadically close at that intersection through Friday at the earliest.

The Port Authority of Allegheny County announced late on Wednesday that it will sporadically close its southbound bus stop at the intersection of Route 51 and Stilley Road on Friday and Saturday while crews from Peter J. Caruso & Sons, Inc., effect paving repairs at that site on behalf of the Pennsylvania American Water Company. That site previously underwent to transfer underground water services off of an old, six-inch pipe onto a newer, 12-inch one.

Travel delays should be expected at that intersection, which is very close to the much busier Route 51-Brownsville Road intersection in Brentwood Borough, through Friday at the earliest.

Crews will alter traffic lanes in that area on Thursday and Friday from approximately 7:30 a.m. through 5 p.m., but Port Authority's announcement on Wednesday said that that time frame is uncertain.
