Public Meeting for 51-88 Road Project Set for July 25

Get ready.

A public meeting regarding a large intersection improvement project for the Route 51-Route 88 junction will be held at the Saint Norbert Church Hall on Wednesday, July 25, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The meeting, open to everyone, will include a 5:30 presentation of what project organizers intend to accomplish at the busy junction that helps to connect a large part of Pittsburgh's South Hills area to Downtown.

Officials from and the Federal Highway Administration will oversee the project, which is expected to cover an area from Stewart Avenue on the border of  to Saint Norberts Street in Pittsburgh's Overbrook neighborhood.

Saint Norbert Church is found at 2413 Saint Norberts St., Pittsburgh, PA 15234.

At Wednesday's meeting, final design project plans will be presented, as will schedule information.

The estimated $15-$20-million project should formally begin in early 2013 and is expected to take two years to complete.

The meeting location is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
