REMINDER: More Traffic Headaches Coming to Curry Hollow Road
Long-term restrictions will be implemented for bridge replacement project near Jefferson Cemetery starting on March 23.
Work on a $5.6-million project to replace a bridge on Curry Hollow Road in Pleasant Hills Borough will begin on Wednesday, March 14, weather permitting, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0.
The bridge over the railroad tracks east of Jefferson Memorial Cemetery and Funeral Home and just west of Arbor Lane (next to Sheetz) will be replaced with a new bridge that will widen the existing roadway to add a turning lane. Traffic signals will be installed, resurfacing will be done, and other improvements will be made, as well.
Beginning on March 14, westbound (toward the funeral home) short-term single-lane closures will occur in the bridge area from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays through March 22. Then, on March 23, long-term restrictions will be implemented that will reduce traffic to two 10-foot-wide lanes—one in each direction—around the clock through late November 2012.
