Minor Flooding on Streets Run/Baldwin Road

The road is navigable, though. Troubled areas spread into the nearby Hays and Lincoln Place communities of the City of Pittsburgh as well.

Streets Run Road, which eventually (and ironically) turns into Baldwin Road as it stretches north out of the , is experiencing some minor flooding after a thunderstorm rolled through the Pittsburgh area last night, Sunday, Feb. 27, and this morning.

The road is definitely navigable, as only three parts of the roadway are still feeling the effects of heavy rain as of 2:17 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28.

Two of those parts, both located between (4846 Streets Run Road) and Homestead Cabinet & Display (1007 Baldwin Road), are being caused by mildly overflowing sewers in the middle of the road. Traffic is being diverted away from sewer lids there. (See the photo gallery to the right of this page.)

The other minor troubled area is located across from the old M. Schlessinger Trucking Co. at 945 Baldwin Road. The lane coming south down Baldwin Road is partially covered in water that has pooled along the roadway there. Traffic is not being diverted at that area, though, and the lane is navigable as of 2:17 p.m. on Monday. (See the photo gallery.)

However, as always, use common sense when traveling on potentially flooded roadways.

A bridge near 520 Baldwin Road (near the Route 885-Baldwin Road junction) was being worked on as of 2:17 p.m., but the work there is not related to flooding. Be advised that Baldwin Road has been reduced to a single lane at that location, and delays should be expected. Again, though, that work is not related to any flooding or possible flooding on Streets Run/Baldwin Road.
