UPDATES: Glass Run Road to Remain Closed Until Monday Afternoon (Now OPEN)

LATEST UPDATE: Glass Run Road has reopened.

UPDATE from PennDOT:

A portion of Glass Run Road (between Joseph Street and Cathell Road) will remain closed until Monday afternoon, Sept. 12.

"The closure was expected to conclude today (Friday, Sept. 9)," PennDOT District 11-0 Press Officer James B. Struzzi II said in a press release. "However, additional necessary work and inclement weather have postponed the reopening to Monday afternoon."

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0 is announcing that part of Route 3098 (Glass Run Road) in  will be closed long-term beginning on Monday, Aug. 29.

PennDOT crews will be repairing a wall between Joseph Street and Cathell Road damaged by recent heavy rains in the area. The closure will begin at 9 a.m. on Aug. 29 and continue around-the-clock through Sept. 9 (UPDATE: through Sept. 12).

Signs will be posted to guide motorists around the work.

From the west:

  • Take Joseph to Agnew Road.
  • Make left onto Agnew.
  • Take Agnew to Becks Run Road.
  • Make left onto Becks Run.
  • Take Becks Run to Brownsville Road.
  • Make left onto Brownsville.
  • Take Brownsville to Route 51.
  • Make left onto Route 51.
  • Travel south on Route 51 to Route 885 (Lebanon Church Road).
  • Get onto Lebanon Church and continue north on Route 885.
  • Exit at Glass Run.

From the east:

  • Same detour in the opposite direction.

About 6,391 vehicles use Glass Run on an average day, according to PennDOT.
