FORECAST: Sleet, Snow Possible in Baldwin-Whitehall

A winter weather advisory has been issued for our area.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Pittsburgh region, including Baldwin Borough, Whitehall Borough and Baldwin Township, from 11 p.m. on Sunday until 2 p.m. on Monday.

A period of snow and freezing rain is possible overnight, which may change to all rain by Monday afternoon.

A winter weather advisory means that snow, sleet or freezing rain will make travel difficult.

Here's a look at, roughly, the Baldwin-Whitehall forecast through Monday morning from the National Weather Service:

  • Sunday Night—A slight chance of snow and freezing rain before 2 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Northeast wind of 5 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Total nighttime snow accumulation of around 1 inch is possible.
  • Monday—Sleet, possibly mixed with rain and snow before 7 a.m., then rain and sleet between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., then rain after 1. High near 42. Southeast wind of 14 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than 1 inch is possible.
