Avoid Area: Water Work on Part of Agnew Road Until July

Work is part of a $101-million improvement project.

Crews from the Pennsylvania American Water Company have started work on Agnew Road in today, April 17, and will continue in that area until at least July.

On weekdays, traffic will be limited to a single alternating lane on Agnew between Middle Street and Becks Run Road (on the border of Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The same traffic limitation will be in place on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The work is needed to accommodate the installation of new water lines and related infrastructure. Motorists are asked to find alternate routes and to avoid the project area.

PA American Water's contractor—Kokosing Construction Company—is completing the work, which is part of a $101-million improvement project for the Hays Mine Water Treatment Plant, Becks Run Pumping Station, Arlington Booster Station and E.H. Aldrich Treatment Complex.
