FORECAST Through Wednesday Night

Icy conditions followed by highs in the upper 50s.

There could be very little rush to the Monday morning rush hour. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday for most of western Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh's South Hills area.

A mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected overnight into Monday morning. Because of a very cold ground and snow pack, roads and sidewalks are expected to be icy.

Here's a look at, roughly, the Baldwin-Whitehall forecast through Wednesday night from the National Weather Service:

  • Sunday Night—Snow and freezing rain, mainly after 1 a.m. Low around 29. Southeast wind of around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half-inch is possible.
  • Monday—Freezing rain before 9 a.m., then rain likely. High near 45. Southwest wind of 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are possible.
  • Monday Night—Showers likely, mainly before 10 p.m. Widespread fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 44. Southwest wind of around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are possible.
  • Tuesday—A chance of showers. Widespread fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 57. South wind of 13 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are possible.
  • Tuesday Night—Showers likely, mainly after 4 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 50. South wind of around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and a half of an inch are possible.
  • Wednesday—Showers. High near 56. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch are possible.
  • Wednesday Night—Rain showers likely before 2 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow showers between 2 and 3 a.m., then a chance of snow showers after 3 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 27. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
