Customers can buy beer there starting on Wednesday, Aug. 24.

Giant Eagle has received approval from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to sell beer at its , located at 7000 Oxford Drive in South Hills Village Square.

Beer sales will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 24.

As in other approved Giant Eagle locations, the sale of beer will be limited to two containers for on-premises restaurant consumption when purchased with food, or two six-packs when purchased for off-premises use.

A variety of over 250 different beer and other malt beverages will be stocked at the Bethel Park Market District with a focus on microbrews, craft beers and premium brands.

Giant Eagle began the Pennsylvania in-store sale of beer in November 2009 and is presently licensed to sell beer from café-style areas inside a total of 27 stores across western Pennsylvania.

A Brentwood Borough location near Whitehall and Baldwin boroughs is among those 27 stores.
