UPDATE (NOW OPEN): AutoZone on Route 51 in Whitehall

If you've been wondering what will come of the construction taking place across the road from on Route 51, wonder no more.
A new auto parts store is expected to open at the site of that construction (in ) in 30-45 days, a representative for AutoZone said on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

According to a Whitehall official on Wednesday, the new AutoZone will be a single-story building of approximately 7,150 square feet, sitting on a lot totaling 66,000 square feet.
The address of the new auto parts store will be 2900 Saw Mill Run Blvd.

The store will have some competition, as Advance Auto Parts has a nearby location at 2801 Saw Mill Run in Pittsburgh's Overbrook neighborhood. The new AutoZone will sit only about 0.11 miles from that Advance Auto Parts location.
The borders of Whitehall, and Brentwood boroughs, as well as Overbrook's, can become blurry at times along Route 51. to learn more about Baldwin-Whitehall's district lines.
