More than 1 million dazzling lights and displays are illuminating Kennywood Park for the holiday season.
Kennywood Holiday Lights will run from 5 to 9 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 30, plus Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 26 and 27.
These rides are open during "Holiday Lights": Gingerbread Express (Olde Kennywood Railroad), Merry-Go-Round, Paratrooper, Kangaroo, Ghostwood Estate (with a special holiday theme), Turtle, Auto Race and up to nine Kiddieland attractions.
And forget the holiday cookies—the Potato Patch is open!
Among the other attractions:
- A holiday lights show featuring holiday music every half-hour.
- Christmas carolers, performances by choirs, model train displays, festive foods and, of course, visits and photos with Santa Claus (through Dec. 23).
Admission costs $14.99 per person at the gate, plus a $1 amusement tax, but you can save $2 with tickets from participating Giant Eagle locations. (The Caste Village Giant Eagle has run out of tickets, but you may still be able to find some at the Brentwood Towne Square Giant Eagle.)
Children aged 2 years or younger will be admitted for free.
Groups of 15 people or more should call 412-464-9931 for a reservation.
