Ground Broken on ManorCare Expansion

Work is scheduled to be completed sometime during the summer of 2013.

Crews from HCR ManorCare, a nationwide health care provider with a location on Weyman Road in Whitehall Borough, have broken ground on an expansion of the Whitehall location's skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.

The expansion is scheduled to be completed sometime during the summer of 2013, according to a news release, and it will include the addition of new rehabilitation equipment and 16 patient beds. The facility's physical and occupational rehab gyms will be moved and extended, as well.

"We are excited that we will be able to better meet the needs of the people in our community," ManorCare-Whitehall's Admissions Director Suzie Fornof said, "and are looking forward to having more opportunities to serve them."

Interested folks can stop by the Whitehall ManorCare to learn more about the expansion and take a tour of it.

Fornof talked about the importance of the addition.

"Short-term rehabilitation is what we have built our reputation on," she said. "Having the opportunity to expand both our physical space and equipment will allow us to do what we do even better.

"We see the expansion as an important addition to the community and the overall patient experience."
