Giant Eagle Offers 20-Cent Fuelperks! for a Limited Time

Giant Eagle officials estimate that the incentive will result in about 2 million gallons of free fuel.

For a limited time, Giant Eagle customers who spend $50 will receive double fuelperks! at GetGo locations, such as the one on Route 51 in Brentwood Borough.

Starting Thursday, May 16, shoppers can earn 20-cents-off-per-gallon discounts for every $50 spent using a Giant Eagle Advantage Card inside Pittsburgh-area stores, including the Giant Eagle at Caste Village in Whitehall Borough.

The incentive runs through Wednesday, May 29.

Giant Eagle officials estimate that the incentive will result in about 2 million gallons of free fuel. The promotion comes just in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend, when millions are expected to travel the nation's highways.

The bonus fuel reward increases the traditional 10-cents-per-gallon fuelperks! discount earned for purchasing qualifying items such as groceries and gift cards.

"Fuelperks! is one of the most popular ways we deliver added value to our customers," Rob Borella, Giant Eagle's senior director of corporate communications, said in a news release. " ... We are excited to reward our customers with this promotion as they are planning family celebrations and preparing for warm weather travels."

After announcing earlier this year a plan to discontinue its foodperks! program, Giant Eagle began offering an option for customers to redeem a 3-cents-per-gallon discount at GetGo locations when an Advantage Card is scanned but fuelperks! are not redeemed.
