PHOTOS: Baldwin Grad's Art on Display in Lawrenceville

Katie Moran has three pieces up in the 'Other Animals' room of The Irma Freeman Center.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then what's an animal horn worth?

The answer: $200 if you're interested.

Paintings, sculptures and other artistic works of seemingly all types were on display at various locations in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood during a monthly Art Crawl on Friday night.

native Katie Moran, who grew up on Jenne Drive but now lives in the Allentown neighborhood of the city, is an active artist around town, so much so that the 2001 graduate had three of her works accepted for display at The Irma Freeman Center for Imagination, near the city's Bloomfield border, on Friday.

The theme at The Freeman Center until March 3 is "Cat Paintings & Other Animals," with Moran's works qualifying as some of the "Others."

In addition to Moran's horn sculpture—see photo gallery above—she had a painting of an Alaskan trout (acrylic on canvas-$165) and a painting of crossed giraffe and money bones (also acrylic on canvas-$140) at The Freeman.

Lawrenceville Art Crawls occur on the first Friday of every month, but other works by Moran will be featured on Tuesday night at 7 at The BeerHive in Pittsburgh's Strip District.
