Get Pumped! 2013 Caste Village Fireworks Info

One of the best yearly attractions in Pittsburgh's South Hills area returns to Whitehall Borough on Friday, June 28, when Caste Village hosts another Independence Day celebration, starting at 6 p.m.

Most Caste stores will be open during the event to sell food, refreshments and other goods, including Frisch's Restaurant with its famous service line and Julie's Treats, with its candy, ice cream and more.

Of course, the event also includes Caste's renowned free fireworks show, which is expected to start at around 10 p.m. this year.

Musical entertainment will be provided all night long, including a Dance Workshop by Shari performance at 6, a School of Glee performance at 7 and DJ Steve Maffei Jr from 7:30 to 10.

As usual, area drivers should expect the closure of Village Lane, part of Grove Road from Village Lane to Baptist Road and part of Weyman Road between Village Lane and Baptist in the hours immediately before, during and immediately after the night's festivities.

The Caste Village parking lots are always packed for this event. Not only are the lots popular temporary campsites; they also offer great vantage points of the fireworks show.
