Weekly Photo Gallery: The Groundhog May Have Seen it Coming

Nearly 70-degree temperatures are melting away the familiar, large, white icicles on Village Lane behind Caste Village a little earlier this year.

The Baldwin-Whitehall Patch will publish a weekly photo gallery of interesting and/or important images caught around Baldwin-Whitehall. Any photo taken from a spot in , the  or the  qualifies, though we'll occasionally accept photos that are right on our neighbors' borders as well.

Last week, B-W Patch reader Edward Ladner submitted  of a bald eagle, which Ladner said that he snapped "as it was flying over the woods across from [his] house on Willett Road."

B-W Patch Editor Bob Healy captured many images today, Feb. 17, that will be featured in this week's gallery. (View the images to the right of this page.)

Healy took a trip to Caste Village on Feb. 17 as Whitehall Borough was experiencing nearly 70-degree temperatures. The warm weather began to melt away many of the large white icicles that famously hang from the cliff behind Caste Village on Village Lane. Specifically, the icicles are near the rear of Armstrong's Restaurant.

This week's gallery shows that many of those large icicles remain attached to that cliff. Though, many others have hit the deck, and the ones that are still hanging on are raining a large amount of water.
