Harvesting hay was only one of the chores on this 23-acre farm located on Elizabethtown Road (now Old Clairton Road in Baldwin Borough). It was a full-working farm until around 1883.
The farm owner was a wounded Civil War veteran who became postmaster of the Option Post Office in 1884 and held that position for more than 20 years.
