This family came from Tyrone, Ireland, to the Baldwin, PA, area in 1789. The man and his wife were the parents of 14 children, and their log cabin served as a store and a Native American trading post. Sometimes, the cabin's second floor was even used for church services.

In 1940, the cabin was moved to Phillips Park in Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood, where it was used as a meeting place by the Girl Scouts of the USA until vandals burned it to the ground several years later.
