Trivia Time: On What Road Was a Veterans Banner Hung?

The Baldwin-Whitehall Patch has partnered with the Baldwin Historical Society to bring you a weekly trivia question that delves into our area's colorful past.

 and Patty Woehler, co-presidents of the society, generously write the questions and provide the pictures.

Here is this week's question:

The first picture above is of an Honor Roll captured in 1945. It was located near the corner of Horning and Curry roads, across the street from . The names of the two servicemen are unknown.

The second picture found above is of a flag hung to honor the men of the Baldwin community who answered the call of their country for service during World War I. Local officials placed a large banner along the road, which was then made of dirt. It was not paved until approximately 1924.

The third picture is of twin brothers who served in World War I—William and John Kaspary from Baldwin's Willock area.

The fourth picture is of brothers who served in World War II—Ed and Harry Dryer.

Many men and women of the Baldwin-Whitehall community have served their country during many wars, past and present.
