Tips from a Patch.com Mom

Mompreneur Vendor Day at Good Shepherd in Whitehall this Saturday, and other events.

Hello, moms! How was your week? Did you get a chance to make it to for the ?

It’s starting to look like with the trees all changing into glorious autumn colors. I will certainly miss summer, but that doesn’t mean that there still isn’t plenty to do around here to get out for some “mom’s time.”

With the kids stuck in the house on those cold, rainy days, you’ll need some relaxing time out more than ever. So let’s see what's going on in Baldwin-Whitehall country this week for you.

Are you in the mood for a little mystery date with the hubby? And by mystery, I mean a murder mystery! in north is hosting a on Sunday, Oct. 9. The event begins at 5 p.m. with cocktails followed by a sit-down dinner at 6. The show starts at 7:15. The cost is only $30 per person for dinner and the show. Dinner includes your choice of stuffed beef, stuffed chicken breast or scrod stuffed with crabmeat. Drinks are not included in the ticket price.

Seating is limited, so make sure that you call soon (412-882-4707) to make reservations for the event.

This sounds like a really fun event for a night out in Baldwin-Whitehall in October. What better than a spooky murder mystery to get you in the mood for Halloween?

Looking for a G.N.O. (Girls Night Out) this week?  on Route 51 in is hosting a “’Tinis for Ta Tas” event on Monday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m.

To explain the name of the event, this will be a benefit for breast cancer awareness featuring $5 martinis. Tavern 51 will also have a Chinese auction going on that night and vendors selling jewelry, cosmetics and other women’s items.

I have heard that the Tavern 51 menu is very good, so grab your friends and enjoy dinner with the ladies during your night out.

And, as always, if you’re looking for a little time away by yourself, there is an event for that this weekend, too.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., you’re going to want to head to the for its .

Some of the vendors who will be attending that event are Cookie Lee Kids, Mary Kay, Tupperware, PartyLite, Pure Romance, Scentsy and many more—too many to mention here!

If you get there early, you even get a “goodie bag” as a thank you for coming. The event also features a silent auction and a 50-50 raffle.

Who knows? You might win the 50-50, and that'll pay for all of your great new purchases! But most of all, this is a time for you to get away from it all, do a little shopping and enjoy your day in Baldwin-Whitehall.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of South Hills is located at 418 Maxwell Drive in Whitehall, so Mompreneur Vendor Day is yet another great way to get out for a little while right in our own area!

These are just a few of the great events going on this week in Baldwin-Whitehall for you to get some time for yourself—a little “momscape” time if you will.
