If you can think of a better way to support development projects in Brentwood, Baldwin and Whitehall boroughs, please let us know.
But for now, we're jumping into the Mon'.
Baldwin-Whitehall Patch Editor Bob Healy—that's me—will join the crazy folks from the Brentwood-Baldwin-Whitehall Chamber of Commerce, the Brentwood Business Owners Association, Economic Development South and the Brentwood Park Initiative in a New Year's Day Polar Plunge into the Monongahela River.
Participants—open to all people—will try to raise funds by obtaining sponsors for their 9:30 a.m. plunges that day. The participants will meet at their launching pad—the Monongahela River Parking Wharf, or "Mon Wharf"—to bask in the warmth of their community before basking in the frigid temperature of the water.
Sponsorships start at $25 and go as high as $100, but the event's organizers will accept any additional contributions. (Look for an event flier and sponsorship/participation form in the media gallery above.)
All of the event's proceeds benefit local development projects, such as the ones organized by the four sponsoring civic groups.
Call 412-881-4100 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Are you sponsoring someone? Give him or her a shoutout in the comments section below. Or, if you're looking for a sponsor, maybe you could find somebody here.
Speaking of that, who wants to sponsor me?? It's for a great cause. :)
