Patch Picks: Ball Fields

The B-W Patch gives you another best-of list in a weekly feature.

The Baldwin-Whitehall Patch presents its weekly Patch Picks feature, highlighting editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off and more.

In honor of baseball and softball season, here is this week's list, calling out the B-W Patch's selections of the best nearby places to play (or watch) ball:

  •  (This sprawling property off of Churchview Avenue includes quite a few ball fields, actually. Click on the link to look at the pictures of what it has to offer.)
  •  (The home of the Baldwin-Whitehall Athletic Association for a reason. A lot of fun history here.)
  •  (After many years, Highlanders softball, annually a contender for WPIAL championships, got the true facility that it deserved. A great place to watch a game if you're not lucky enough to play on the field.)
  •  (The home of Baldwin High School baseball got an upgrade recently.)
  • (A good field behind the on Baptist Road in Whitehall Borough. This spot also marks one of the ends of the beautiful .)

So grab a bat and glove (or chair) and get out there! You may need a permit, but if the field's open, we say go for it. And check back each week for more Patch Picks.
